The Garden Chapter 1 – An awakening. The Garden stirred. And within it, all the inhabitants, like clockwork, stirred too. The sun shone and as one they all stretched and rose from their slumber. That is, apart from one. "What do we have here?", the voice asked. For the first time a genuine puzzlement tainting the warm melodic voice. "It is time for play and there is one not up and about?". The Garden didn't like this. Not only was it against all it knew that something wasn't awake when it was, but it was a something it didn't know. Something it hadn't known before. The Garden thought awake again and the inhabitants stirred restlessly,

T'was the night 'fore All Hallows and all through the house All the beasties were stirring, right down to the mouse the pumpkins were placed by the windows so clear in hope that no ghoulies or ghosts would appear. The children were quaking with fear in their beds while visions of skeletons danced in their heads. The wife in her nightie and me in my shirt had just settled down for a cuddle and flirt. When outside the house there arose such a hiss I sprang from  my bed to see what's amiss round to the window I ran double quick grabbing as I went my lucky big stick. A misty start For years I toiled for the man. Ran the race with the other rats through the maze of corporate warfare. And on occasion, I enjoyed it. But mostly it was a means to an end. Luckily I also dabbled in other things to keep my brain from entering torpor. One of which was shares. I wasn't a bull or a bear or any other creature in the stock market, just someone who occasionally had a punt on a company that looked mildly interesting. It was one of these 'dabbles' that eventually caught the eye of a much larger company and those shares I had suddenly rocketed. Thanks to this, a nice lump sum landed in my bank account, which meant my re
